Pheonix — “1901”

Crackerjack live performance of the best tune on Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix.

While I haven’t raved sufficiently about this album, it really is yet another brilliant record by the best rock band to ever emerge from France. (Yes, I know Serge Gainsbourg worked in the genre, but he stands apart from the world of bands — just like songwriting gods like Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan do.) Pick this one up. It’s truly excellent, and a very good starting point if you don’t know the band.
